Unhand ("we", "our", or "the app") is a behavioral awareness tool designed to help you identify and reduce unwanted habitual behaviors using sensor data from a paired wearable device. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 On-Device Data (Never Leaves Your Device)
The following data is processed entirely on your device using local machine learning models and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Magnetometer readings from your paired wearable device
- Heart Rate and Body Sensor data (used for wrist detection and physiological context)
- Detection events (timestamps and confidence scores of detected behaviors)
- Trained ML model parameters derived from your personal calibration sessions
- Orientation and motion features (relative heading, tilt, and rotation) derived from on-watch sensors
2.2 Account Data (Firebase)
If you choose to create an account, we collect and store the following via Firebase Authentication:
- Email address
- Encrypted password (managed entirely by Firebase; we never see your raw password)
- Display name (optional)
- Google account identifier (if you use Google Sign-In)
This data is used solely to authenticate you and link your account across devices.
2.3 Subscription Data
If you subscribe to Unhand Premium, purchase transactions are handled by the platform's native billing system (Google Play / Apple App Store). We do not store or process payment card details. We may receive:
- Subscription status (active / expired)
- Purchase date and renewal date
2.4 Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use Firebase services, which may collect:
- Crash logs and diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version)
- Basic usage analytics (feature interactions, session length)
This data is anonymized and aggregated. It cannot be used to identify you individually.

4. Third-Party Services
Unhand uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication, Remote Config, Firestore — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit — Subscription management
- Google Sign-In — Optional social authentication
5. Data Retention
- On-device data (sensor readings, detection logs, ML models): Stored locally until you delete the app or use "Delete All Data" in Settings.
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
- Crash / analytics: Retained by Firebase per their standard data retention policy (up to 90 days).
6. Data Security
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
- Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard encryption for credentials.
- Behavioral detection runs entirely on-device — raw motion and heart rate data is never uploaded.
7. Children's Privacy
Unhand is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@ruslancer.com and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account and associated data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@ruslancer.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You can also delete all local data at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete All Data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
